developpe in Philadelphia (USA) since 15 to September 17 the
annual meeting of the the IDSA (International Diving Schools
Association - Brittany France).
To the event
it will participate, as delegated, the manager
of the
CEDIFOP Manos Kouvakis.
To the meeting on invitation of the CEDIFOP and in representation
of councillor of work of the Sicilian Region On. Avv. Carmelo
Incardona, will participate the
Dr. Marco
Fiorella, component of the adviser of the councillor and the Ing.
Vincenzo Scattareggia, manager of the area IV of the Department
Regional work.

IDSA / CEDIFOP: To
Philadelphia (USA)
for the future of the Industrial Underwater Formation
The 24esimo annual conference of the IDSA -
International Diving Schools Association (Brittany -
France) will develop since 15 to September 17 to the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in Philadelphia (it Uses). It will be in
this occasion that the delegates of the principal schools
of scuba diver of the world will meet to develop further
progress in the sector and to fix the definitive accords
for the next edition. An appointment that Sicily directly
will concern, since the city where the edition is
anticipated will develop 2009 is Palermo.
The decision has been taken on the occasion of the
preceding meeting in Finland. An event that will bring in
the Sicilian chief town the great international
personalities of the scuba diver, particularly of that
industrial, sector of importance every increasing since

with evident impact on the question of underwater
technical Operators, that will have a conclusive role.
The three days American will be entertained from the
Diving Academy International and in notebook it is
anticipated, among the various points, a part related to
the relationships with the industry, particularly to
establish what the next footsteps will be to complete
toward a more narrow adhesion of the standards of the IDSA
to the industrial sector. Standard related to the
formation of the underwater operator that all the schools
and the centres of formation - on international staircase
- adherent to IDSAs, share and take in.
This happens through the Program of Qualification of the
IDSA that has as end the alignment of the different
national standards, to do so that formation and the
following qualification of an underwater Operator is

formation.
Among the centers of formation adherent to IDSA there is
the CEDIFOP in Palermo, that will participate with the
manager Manos Kouvakis in Philadelphia. Besides on
invitation of the CEDIFOP and in representation of
councillor of work of the Sicilian Region On. Avv. Carmelo
Incardona, will participate the Dr. Marco Fiorella,
component of the adviser councillor and the Ing. Vincenzo
Scattareggia, manager of the area IV of the Department
Regional work.
The CEDIFOP, whose according to annual course for OTS -
underwater technical Operators begins on September 22, has
progressively acquired a notable credibility in the sector
of the formation, for instance shown by the share to its
courses of students coming from Italy and, recently, in
increasing number also from the foreign countries. During
the conference its passage will be discussed to "Full
Member" and the consequent nomination of a person
responsible that will verify the conformity of the
specifications of the CEDIFOP to those established from
IDSA. The CEDIFOP will participate in the election of the
new president of the IDSA for 2009-2011. To today the
unique candidacy of Leo Lagarde you/he/she has been set,
of the National Diving Centre (NDC), of the Low Countries.
Of the section "Full Members" they already make part
European (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France,
Italy, Holland, Norway, Sweden) schools, four from the Usa
and one from the South Africa. Among the other matters
that will be discussed: the qualification of international
commercial underwater Instructor; the realization of an
international dictionary of underwater terminology; the
lines it drives standard for the qualifications of
underwater Physician and Supervisor and the assistance to
the states in which such programs of formation are being
started.
